Catching up on the new year's himekaji challenge, I tried wearing a piece I rarely wear. As one of my only black dresses I tend to go more gothic with it and only wear it when the occasion calls for it (like watching a horror movie or going to a halloween event) but I wanted to challenge myself to coord it in a more every day look and I LOVE how it turned out!

 Since social media is crumbling I thought I should start blogging again! I will try to do more micro-blogs rather than the longform posts that I normally do (but I'm sure some of my posts will be long anyway ) 

I recently cleaned my room and hemmed my curtains so I could take cute selfies!




Unfortunately I only took 2 selfies so far and my room is already messy again

Katsu & Window Shopping ♡

Today's momentous occasion: we went on a date! Like.... outside!!!


Okay, so all we did was window shop and get lunch but it was our first time really going anywhere in public just for fun in a loooooooooong time!  As I will be blogging about more later, my boyfriend and I have moved in together, and we need some items for our new balcony. We thought it would be best to browse in person before making any purchases, so since we've been fully vaccinated for about a month now and the cases in our city continue to go down, we thought it would be nice to check home depot to compare some of our options in person! Even though it was just home depot, I decided to get dressed up and make it a little date! It was really nice just walking around and browsing a shop since it's seriously been since before the pandemic that we've done anything like this. We looked at patio furniture and then took selfies in the lighting department 

After that we picked up some boba and put in a takeout order from a katsu sandwich shop that I had never been to before. Originally we thought to eat it in the car, but the shopping center was pretty empty and there were some nice tables outside, so we decided to give it a try eating outside the restaurant! Ordering ahead of time and paying online, picking up our food and then eating on our own outside was exactly my speed! It felt a lot more normal than I've had in a while, while still having almost no contact with the waiters or other patrons. I definitely want to do this more often as we head into Summer!


The other momentous event..... I used a public toilet for the first time in over a year as well! What a big day LOL

It's been a pretty stressful month with moving and completely totaling my car  Getting out of the house and going on a nice date was exactly what I needed to get my mind off things for a while!

Mahou ☆ May

Good morning! It's already been a bit of time since I was active, other than finally getting around to finishing up some of those konmari posts that had been sitting in my drafts forever! Last month I got really busy and I wanted to post my little recap since I never got around to posting about the tea party or what I was up to!


The theme for last month's tea party was Mahou May, with the concept being that putting on Himekaji can really feel like a magical girl transformation! May was also Fanime month, so I was extremely busy getting all the last minute preparations going. It was really great getting to see everyone virtually but I'm already hoping that we'll get to return in person for real next year 


For the tea party, even though I was so busy I definitely had to put together a coord for such a cute theme! I picked an ank rouge skirt with star lace trim with red accents. The color scheme kind of reminded me of madoka and for some reason the stars just felt very magical to me! I picked Mr. Bilbert (name courtesy of my boyfriend LOL) as my obligatory mascot character! It was really fun seeing everyone's coords and their pets and plushies they would pick as their mascot character as well.



I can't wait for this month's tea party!



A Very Bear-y Tea Party

 Last weekend the himekaji discord server had our first virtual tea party meetup!


The theme this time was "A Very Bear-y Tea Party" with the concept being bears and plaid! It was so fun seeing the outfits that everyone came up with!

Didi not only organized the whole event, but she also helped me pick out my outfit, and we did matching hairstyles together. It was so nice getting a fresh perspective on my wardrobe, and it was fun getting to pick a coordinate out of her wardrobe as well! When I arrived at the tea party we realized that I was twinning with Cheerie totally by coincidence! Here we're both wearing the Liz Lisa Ribbon Bear print. It's a cute pink design with bears and teapots on it!

My outfit for the tea party was actually head to toe Liz Lisa other than my socks 

For snacks I made cucumber sandwiches, easy Pillsbury biscuits, and I bought some tea and madeleines to eat along with it. It was super delicious!

We'll be having another tea party next month, I'm really looking forward to it!

2020, You've Overstayed Your Welcome

Happy new years everyone! 2020 was pretty rough for everyone and while the new year hasn't brought an end to any of our challenges, it still feels good to close the book on that one.

In times like these it's hard to find things to be thankful for, and honestly I don't think anyone needs to. When things suck sometimes the healthiest thing is it just allow things to suck and give yourself space to feel bad about it. Still, I sat down like I do every year to try and reflect on what small happiness I managed to find this year, and I can honestly say that fashion is one of the things that kept me hanging on. My wardrobe really grew this year and in the last 6 months it really feels like my style snapped into place!


I also started konmari-ing my apartment and despite my lack of blog updates I've actually come quite far! I still have some work to do and a lot of blogs to write about it, but my apartment already feels so much more like a home now than it did when I first started.

We fostered a cat who was so cute and playful and I sobbed when he inevitably got adopted 



We also ate so many delicious home cooked meals!


As far as next year goes, I'm still really not sure what the future holds, but for the next 3 months I really want to focus on self care and taking better care of myself physically and emotionally. I also really enjoyed the slow paced feeling of long form blogging, so I hope you'll see more of me on here this year! Happy Birthday Honoka! (And OOTD)

This is just a quick update. Today is Honoka's birthday, and being a huge Love Live fan I've gotta dress up for every μ's birthday that comes and goes. So, today I tried my best to put together the most Honoka outfit I could, and made sure to make my hair up in a side half up-do like she wears. I was inspired by the SR card from the last Honoka event, although I didn't stick to it very strictly. I also made sure to wear my new strawberry t-shirt (I'm still waiting on a few more items from my order to arrive before writing a proper review!) since strawberries are Honoka's favorite. I've had fun today feeling like an energetic shoujo protagonist! Sorry for the poor quality cellphone pic... I should be getting a better camera soon!

I'm not really wearing anything too fancy, but I'll do a rundown of my outfit anyway.

Ribbon: Jo-Ann Fabrics

Although it's not really the look I'm going for this season, it's nice to break out sometimes and wear something in a different style.

In other Love Live news, I'm making progress on my Marine Hanayo outfit. <3




So that's exciting! I think I'll easily be able to finish this costume in time for the norcal gathering. When I finish I'll write up an entry about my process here.
