Tokyo 2025 Haul!

April 08, 2025 • 2 comments

Since I'm trying to downsize my things at home I tried not to go overboard on shopping this time.... well tried might be the keyword here ^^; In reality there were a couple of basics that I still needed in my wardrobe, and then a number of impulse buys that I just couldn't help myself in the end.

Closet Child

Liz Lisa Parasol Dress

Since this print is pretty old by now, I found it for a really good price at Closet Child! It's not a print that I had my eye on beforehand, but it's so charming in person and the back shirring is so stretchy and comfy. I was so happy with how comfy it fit when I tried it on!

9/10 purchase: I didn't need it, but it was a good price and I'm positive I'll wear it a ton!

Amavel Blouse and Ank Rouge Cutsew

These were also a pretty good price and black short sleeve blouses are one of the staples I definitely need in my wardrobe. 10/10, I am sure to wear these all the time!

Second Street & Recycle Shops

Almost all of these are from Second Street minus the coat. Since I was putting together a bridesmaid outfit I did a lot more second street browsing than usual! This is where most of my throwaway purchases went... I mean, when the clothes are so cheap it's hard not to add to cart without giving it much thought

Rienda and Princess Melody

I was excited to see a Princess Melody top in the wild! It's honestly a tiny bit tight on me, but the bears were so cute I couldn't help it! Since the pink doesn't exactly match with my himekaji wardrobe I have a feeling this one will be relegated to my lolita wardrobe. 7/10, it's very cute but I probably could have lived without it

The Rienda top is a style I normally wouldn't have bothered to try since I think the off shoulder look usually doesn't compliment me. But it was so cheap I thought I may as well. And I actually love how it looks on me! 8/10, I took a chance on this one but I hope it gets a lot of wear anyway!

Ank Rouge OP

Honestly, I should have let this one go. I really have no use for an all black OP, but I was excited to find Ank Rouge at second street prices and I was even more excited that it fit me It got a few wears in tokyo but even right after buying it I totally felt like I had to force myself to wear it since I went to the trouble of buying it. I will probably give it away pretty soon. 3/10

Tnewties Jacket

I had never heard of this brand before, but apparently they used to have a Laforet Harajuku store? I only bought this jacket because of how cute it looked with my outfit that day! And it DID look really cute, but it's honestly too small on me and I think the Liz Lisa sweater I got later on fills a similar enough role. I'm pretty torn on whether to try to tailor it and keep it or pass it on. It's SO CUTE but will I really wear it...? Augh!! 5/10 it served its purpose but now it's breaking my heart

Unkown Brand?

I've been looking for a below the knee winter coat since last year, and managed to find this one on my first day there! I couldn't find a tag anywhere on it but it's really comfy and even reversible! I think it's pretty cute but I'm not sure if it perfectly matches my wardrobe.... and the fabric is also surprisingly thin, so it wasn't actually warm enough for Tokyo winters either, which is mainly what I wanted the coat for  This is kind of an 8/10 purchase for me. It's an upgrade from my current below the knee coat but I'll probably replace it when I find an even better one someday.

Brand New Tops & Outerwear

Honey Cinnamon

I got these when I went to the 109 with Cheerie and they were both on sale! I don't know why since I actually saw other locations still selling these weeks later for full price, but hey I'll take it! I actually needed to replace one of my white blouses and this one is really soft and surprisingly comfy for all the details it has. Cheerie has a really similar jacket too and encouraged me to get this one since she loves hers so much. I don't exactly need a pink jacket but I'd been really eyeing everyone's cute puffer jackets this season so I was happy to jump on the trend! It's super warm, comfy, and lightweight so it was PERFECT for traveling with. I ended up wearing it almost every day since it was so convenient to stuff in my bag. I'm super happy with these, 10/10

Liz Lisa Cropped Ribbon Sailor Cardigan

This is one that I literally thought about my entire trip and ended up getting right and the end. A black cardigan is one of the staples I've been missing for a while that I keep reaching for in my closet. So, I'd been looking for a good one the whole trip. This is the one I liked the most but Liz Lisa has just gotten so expensive that I was hoping to find something cheaper even if it's a little more basic. (Un?)fortunately, I never found anything even close, so in the end I handed over the money and went for it anyway. Honestly I have no regrets, it's really comfy and even though there's a lot of details it feels really wearable and versatile compared to some of Liz Lisa's more OTT pieces these days! 8/10, docking points only for Liz Lisa's prices and usual quality control issues

UNIQLO Miffy Shirt

I packed for winter weather, but we got about 3 days of heat towards the end of our trip. I picked this shirt up in desperation when I was melting in my long sleeves, but actually it's super cute and I'll probably keep wearing it often! 10/10, it was there for me when I needed it most

Brand New Dresses

PALEMO STORE (Nakano)

I was looking for a JSK like this a couple of years ago and ended up getting one from ToAlice the last time I came to tokyo. That one's a little too small though, and I honestly prefer the length and color of this one! So I'll probably sell the ToAlice one, I'm happy to have found a replacement that fits me better! 10/10

Amavel

Did I need this dress? Not really. But it's SO cute and comfy that I couldn't help myself! It's really versatile since the bib under the collar is removable and the skirt somehow looks good both with or without a petticoat, meaning I can wear this as a lolita piece or for every day wear which is so rare to find! It was a bit pricey but to be honest with Ank Rouge and Liz Lisa raising their prices so much Amavel doesn't feel so expensive anymore. The fabric is really soft and nice quality, although I did lose 2 buttons in the first day wearing it. Once I reinforce all the buttons though I won't have any complaints about her! 10/10 I'm in love

Brand New Skirts

PARK by one way

My friend introduced me to this brand and I'm really impressed by their sizing! Their stuff caters really well to my size so I had fun looking around there. I've been super curious about the macaron skirts everyone's been into lately but I was hesitant since the big waistbands usually don't flatter me. After trying it though I'm OBSESSED with it! The skirt is honestly a bit short in the back, but the built in sukapan gives a nice little extra coverage. 8/10, I have some ill fitting black skirts right now that I will probably replace with this one!

ems excite

This might be my biggest regret along with the Ank Rouge OP. It's a really cute shape but after wearing it a couple of times, I have to admit it's too small on me  I also only really got it because I wanted a brown skirt to wear with my twin bear knit.... forgetting that I totally have brown skirts that I wear with that sweater all the time, I just didn't pack them on the trip LOL It was a relatively cheap purchase though, so overall not too big a loss! 3/10

Mocha Shimokitazawa

I've been looking for a sheer black overskirt ever since I wore this outfit, so I was happy to find this! I can't wait to wear it over my sack dresses! 8/10 kinda boring but it'll be fun to accessorize with!

Shoes & Accessories

Axes Femme Loafers Pumps With Ribbon

I've been wanting some glossy loafers for ages, but most of them are usually platform heels which I never wear. Axes Femme always comes in clutch with their cute flats though! I wore these almost every day on my trip, I just added some insoles and they were super cute and comfy. I don't regret it at all, although I do now have a number of black loafers and mary janes so I will probably have to make some tough choices now that I'm home ^^;

I got a ton of cute socks as usual (including the liz lisa socks I'd been eyeing for a while now!) and also picked up a sunhat from tutuanna as well. Since it was literally snowing at this point in the trip I wasn't expecting to find a sunhat. But, I've been looking for one that I can fold up in my bag for a while now so I'm glad I found it!

The other standout from my sock haul were the Nudey 54 tights. They are SO SOFT and the M-L size is perfect on me. I also liked that they have a big selection of undertones. Their Pink Beige is the closest color match I've ever found to my skin tone! Unfortunately their skin color selection is pretty narrow, so if you're much paler or darker this brand won't be of much use to you, but if you're a similar shade then I definitely recommend them!

I also got a fun collection of accessories. The pink headband is from Amavel but everything else is offbrand. I think the fluffy hairclips are my favorite and got tons of wear on my trip!

Bits and Bobs

Other than clothes I tried to keep my random stuff purchases to a minimum, but I did end up collecting a number of things over the month

I got a couple of things for the kitchen: two teaspoons and a teabag plate, a little magnetic mofusand hook for the fridge, and the kirby cafe chalkboard is actually a bag clip! Though it feels a tiny bit fragile, so I will probably just use it as a prop for my figure displays.

I also picked up two tubes of melon bread spread which my friend brought back from japan last year. It's sooooo good I could almost eat it straight from the tube

I was so impressed that I only got two Cinnamoroll things. The temptation was everywhere!

Since my boyfriend has been repairing gameboys lately and got my old one working, I picked up this GBA game which looked SO cute. I have no idea what kind of game it is, but because of the kana on the packaging I thought it might be good language practice  I also later happened to find a gachapon machine with little Ochaken drawstring bags, I was so surprised I had to go for it!

I had to support Heidi at her live and ended up buying some stickers, gacha trading cards, and their CD!

My favorite maid cafe got me with their 20 year anniversary merch

Last but not least I picked up some bromides from Zettai Ryouiki and Swallowtail!

Overall, I'm pretty happy with my gets, though I probably could have shown a tad bit more self control, I also don't feel like I went crazy overboard either. Now to finally unpack and get back to my routine at home
